We are over the moon to announce the addition of Aaron “abarone68” Barone as our newest StreamTeam member. As a multi-table tournament (MTT) specialist, living in Vancouver, B.C., Aaron is a fantastic addition to our already strong Twitch poker stream.
With many years playing professionally, Aaron brings a lot to the table by way of experience, tenacity and skill. He got his start playing online poker during the Moneymaker boom in a friend’s weekly cash game. There aren’t many still in the game who can make that claim!
The intricacies and strategy that poker demanded became apparent as the same guy won each week. So, he decided to study as much possible to become a fierce opponent in those home games.
And he’s never looked back.
Aaron’s Journey into the World of Poker
Aaron’s journey through poker is long and twisting. After deposing $100 in an online poker site, he promised his parents that if he lost that initial investment, he’d never deposit again.
He started playing cash games briefly before moving on to $5 and $10 9-Max SNGs. Eventually, he was able to run that initial deposit up to a $10,000 bankroll while climbing the stakes.
After those games started to wane in popularity, he moved on to playing MTTs in 2018.
In 2011, Black Friday went into full effect in the U.S., effectively ending any hopes of building a life from online poker earnings. So, a move was in order.
After testing the waters in Mexico, Thailand, Bahamas, and Croatia, he lucked upon Vancouver, B.C. That same curiosity that so attracted him to the game of poker intrinsically drives his need to travel and explore.
Aaron Becomes 888poker StreamTeam Ambassador

He’ll also get to explore our online poker software as he streams live on his Twitch poker channel and the 888poker Twitch. Aaron started streaming back in March 2021 with his deepest 888poker run happening in the $120K GTD XL Winter – Mystery Bounty Opening Event, where he took second place.
And, as it so happens, PKOs and Mystery Bounty events are his favourite format. As he put it, “the mystery element spices up the format quite a lot”.

Aaron’s favourite parts about his Twitch community is the way they connect and engage with each other and their desire to make a difference. Side-by-side with them, he’s managed to raise $10,000 for various charities.
